Media, social conflict and war : working with the clouded lens of American journalism

Contrary to the oftentimes blind manner with which media products are consumed, they do not present a clear and objective view of current events. Educated citizens of the world must understand the limits of media and consider these when conducting analysis of local, national, and global events. The world's citizens, scholars, and journalists must also continue developing new ways of fulfilling the critical function that journalism provides to a free and open society.
